1、 Materials
Glass fiber: Glass fiber is the main raw material for fiberglass roof panels. It is an inorganic non-metallic material with high strength, corrosion resistance, and resistance to aging. After high-temperature treatment, glass fibers can be fibrous and can be cut to different specifications as needed.
Resin: Resin is another important component of fiberglass roof panels, commonly used resins include epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester resin, phenolic resin, etc. These resins have excellent water resistance, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and other characteristics, playing a bonding and strengthening role in fiberglass roof panels.
2、 Production process
Raw material preparation: First, the glass fiber needs to be cut and shaped to form prefabricated components. Then, these prefabricated parts are placed in the mold, and after the resin coating and other production processes are completed, the finished product can be taken out.
Spray resin: Spray resin onto the surface of glass fibers, allowing them to soak and be absorbed into the gaps between the fibers, ensuring a strong bond between the fibers.
Ratio: Adjust or change the type, ratio, and additives of the resin as needed to meet different performance requirements.
Air compression: Use an air compressor to press air into the resin coating to remove bubbles and voids, ensuring the quality of the finished product.
Curing: Cover the surface of the resin coating with a thin film and heat it to a certain temperature to fully cure the resin within a certain period of time.
Disassembly: After a certain period of curing, the produced fiberglass steel plate is disassembled and further treated for its surface quality.
Fiberglass reinforced plastic roof panels are an excellent building material with relatively simple production process, stable product quality, and advantages such as lightweight, durability, insulation, waterproofing, and environmental protection. They have been widely used in various occasions. However, the fiberglass roof also needs to be carefully maintained and maintained during use to ensure its long-term effectiveness and safety.
